STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Staten Island Chamber of Commerce welcomed close to 200 guests to its annual Building Awards Luncheon Friday afternoon at the Richmond County Country Club, celebrating excellence in Staten Island’s commercial and residential properties for design and construction.
The winners of the 2019 Staten Island Chamber of Commerce Building Awards, including the prestigious Chairman’s Award, were presented with crystal awards.
The prestigious Chairman’s Award, the highest honor in the Chamber’s Building Awards program, was given to the the multi-level Viking Student Center located at St. Joseph by-the-Sea High School in Huguenot. The entry was submitted by Emrys Building Consultants, Inc., and school principal, the Rev. Michael Reilly.
Special recognition was given to the Joseph A. Verdino Field of Dreams baseball stadium at South Shore Little League in Tottenville, which was awarded the Albert P. Melniker Award, for enhancing the quality of life on Staten Island.
The Building Awards Luncheon is co-sponsored by Kamco Supply Corp and the Community Health Center of Richmond.
